This Privacy Policy describes how the Federal Pay Calculator ("the App") handles information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. In short: we do not collect, store, or share any personal data.
1. No Data Collection
The Federal Pay Calculator is a fully client-side tool. All calculations — including your pay scale, grade, step, insurance selections, tax withholding, and retirement inputs — are performed entirely within your browser. None of this information is transmitted to or stored on any server.
2. No Accounts or Registration
The App does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or social security number. You can use all features of the App anonymously.
3. No Cookies or Tracking
The App does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics services to monitor your behavior. We do not build profiles on users or share any data with advertisers or data brokers.
Your theme preference (light/dark mode) may be saved in your browser's local storage solely for your convenience. This data never leaves your device.
4. Donations
If you choose to make a voluntary donation to support the App, payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. Any payment information you provide is handled directly by Stripe under their own Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your credit card details.
5. Pay Data Sources
All pay data used in calculations (GS/GL/WS pay tables, locality rates, insurance premiums, tax brackets) is sourced from publicly available information published by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the IRS. This data is used solely to power the calculator and is not linked to any individual user.
6. Children's Privacy
This App is intended for use by federal employees and does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we collect no data from anyone, there is no special risk to minors.
7. Changes to This Policy
If this Privacy Policy is ever updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Since we collect no data, any changes are unlikely to affect your privacy.
